"Das Leben der Anderen" shot with Hawk Anamorphic Lenses

The German feature film "Das Leben der Anderen" has been honored by four awards: "Bayrischer Filmpreis" for best actor (Ulrich Mühe), best screenwriter (Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck), best director (Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck) and best production (Wiedemann & Berg Filmproduktion, Max Wiedemann and Quirin Berg).

Das Leben der Anderen "Das Leben der Anderen" has been shot entirely with Hawk Anamorphic Lenses.

The jury praised Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck for his "astonishing mature debut, transferred by a direction secure in style, which knows to lead an execellent team of actors supremely good. During the past years, a first work impressed only seldom in that way." That's why the VGF (Verwertungsgesellschaft für Nutzungsrechte an Filmwerken) as well honored the producers of the film (Wiedemann & Berg Filmproduktion, Max Wiedemann and Quirin Berg).

The film takes place in East Berlin 1984. It tells about the involvement of the state security service, its observation right inside the privacy. It tells the love story of the actor Christa Maria and the writer Georg Dreymann, which breaks down in the end because one of them puts the regime above the private for a while. Not least, all persons are precise character studies within a dictatorship; they are humans who decide in favor of or against the regime sometime.
