Sal Totino Takes Golden Frog at Camerimage for The Offer

Godfather dramatization shot on Hawk V-Lites

At the 31st EnergaCamerimage International Film Festival in Poland, which recognizes excellence in cinematography, Salvatore Totino, ASC, AIC took home top honors in the TV Series competition for his work on an episode of The Offer titled A Seat at the Table.

Totino set the look for the ten-episode miniseries, which chronicles the behind-the-scenes drama on the legendary production of The Godfather. Totino used Hawk V‑Lite Anamorphic lenses combined with Sony Venice cameras, a pairing he first chose on the sci-fi thriller 65. "I fell in love with the V‑Lites on 65," says Totino. "The directors really loved the look, especially the wider focal lengths. The V‑Lites have a nice, subtle warmth, and they pick up the light in such a beautiful way. At T3, with the Venice and its latitude and dual ISO, we could work in low light at 2500 ASA, which helped me out tremendously." Totino thanked Sony, Hawk and Keslow Camera from the stage in his acceptance speech.
