DoP Vladimír Smutný won the Czech Lion for BEST CINEMATOGRAPHY as well as the CAMERA PRIZE of the ASSOCIATION OF CZECH CINEMATOGRAPHERS for his cinematography on the feature film Tmavomodrý svet (Dark Blue World). Dark Blue World was shot entirely on Hawk Anamorphic® Lenses.During the shooting period of 21 weeks Mr. Smutny used Hawk V-Series Anamorphics as well as a set of Hawk Compact Anamorphics. Additionally there were the Hawk 46-230mm Zoom and the new Hawk 300-900mm Zoom engaged. For the numerous arial sequences Vantage Film delivered special Eyemo Cameras which were mounted onto the wings of the World War 2 Spitfire planes. A Hydroflex® Deep Water Housing - set up for the Compact Hawks - was used in South Afrika to shoot the ocean sequences.
In 1999 the DoPs Jaroslav Brabec, Martin Cech and Jir Macák won the CZECH LION for BEST CINEMATOGRAPHY for their film Kure melancholik (Chick, the Melancholic) which was shot with Hawk Anamorphics® also.
